Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Jarrah personal finance application ("Service") operated by Zondo Studios ("we", "us", or "our"), available at jarrah.money and as a companion mobile app for iOS and Android.

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

You must be at least 16 years of age to use Jarrah. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information when creating your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access to your account
• Not share your account credentials with any third party

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

Jarrah is a personal finance management tool, available on the web and as a companion mobile app, that allows you to:

• Track manually entered transactions and import them from CSV or Excel files exported from your bank
• Categorise transactions, manage vendors, and create automatic categorisation rules
• Build budgets and track recurring expenses and income (e.g. rent, subscriptions, salary), and monitor progress against them
• Track investment accounts, contributions, and net-worth balance history
• Set financial goals and record progress toward them
• Record transfers between your accounts
• Track shared expenses and IOUs ("reminders") with other people
• Generate financial reports and insights, and export your data as a JSON file

Some features are gated behind the paid Pro plan; see Section 5.

Jarrah offers a free plan that includes core functionality including unlimited accounts, unlimited transactions, CSV and Excel import, unlimited categories and vendor rules, and the dashboard overview. Additional features — including the budget planner and tracker, financial goals, recurring expenses and income (e.g. rent, subscriptions, salary), reminders and shared expenses, investment tracking, full insights and cash flow analysis, split transactions, PDF reports and Excel/CSV export, and priority support — are available through a paid subscription ("Pro" plan).

Pro is available at $4.99 AUD per month or $49.90 AUD per year (billed annually). New accounts can start a 14-day free trial of Pro. A valid payment method is required to begin the trial; you will not be charged until the trial ends.

You can cancel any time during the trial — including immediately after starting it — and you will not be charged. If you do not cancel, the subscription auto-renews at the price stated above when the trial ends. Cancelling after a billing cycle starts does not entitle you to a pro-rata refund unless required by applicable law. Your data is never deleted when downgrading.

We reserve the right to modify pricing, features included in each plan, or introduce new plans with reasonable notice. Changes to pricing will not apply retroactively to active billing periods.

The free plan will always include unlimited accounts, unlimited transactions, unlimited categories and vendor rules, CSV and Excel import, and the dashboard overview.

Pro subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis and automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled.

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You retain Pro access until then.

You may switch between monthly and annual billing at any time. When switching to annual, you will receive a prorated credit for the remainder of your monthly period. When switching to monthly, the change takes effect at the end of your current annual period.

Subscription fees are non-refundable except where a refund is required by applicable consumer-protection law. Cancelling stops future renewals; we do not pro-rate or refund the unused portion of a billing period.

Payment processing depends on where you subscribe. On the web, all payments are handled by Stripe. In the iOS and Android apps, subscriptions are billed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store) and are subject to their respective terms; you can manage or cancel those subscriptions from your App Store or Google Play account. Jarrah does not store your credit-card number or payment credentials in any case. See our Privacy Policy for details on payment data handling.

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation
• Infringe on the rights of any third party
• Transmit malicious code, spam, or harmful content
• Upload attachments containing material you do not have the right to store, or that infringes another party's rights
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or its infrastructure
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
• Use the Service for any commercial purpose other than managing your personal finances
• Create multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits

You retain ownership of all financial data you enter into the Service. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your data.

You grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display your data solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

You can export your data at any time via the in-app Data Export feature, which produces a JSON file containing every record we hold for your account. You can delete your account and all associated data from the Settings page. For more information on how we handle your data, please see our Privacy Policy.

The Jarrah mobile app is provided as a companion to the web service under the same Terms. The mobile app may request optional permissions to access your device calendar (to add reminder due dates as native events) or your contacts (to suggest names when adding participants to a shared expense). These permissions are only used when you trigger the relevant feature, and the underlying data stays on your device.

If you enable push notifications, we may send you reminder, budget, and account-related alerts. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.

Jarrah is a financial tracking and planning tool. Nothing in the Service constitutes financial, tax, investment, or legal advice. We are not a financial adviser, tax agent, or licensed professional.

You should consult a qualified professional before making significant financial decisions. We accept no liability for financial decisions made based on information displayed in the Service.

We strive to keep the Service available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with reasonable notice where practicable.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or financial losses resulting from reliance on information provided by the Service.

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy that cannot be excluded under the consumer-protection laws of your country of residence.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Jarrah and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

You may terminate your account at any time by deleting it from the Settings page. Upon deletion, all your data is permanently and immediately removed, your authentication record is deleted, and any active Pro subscription billed through Stripe is cancelled. If you subscribed through the App Store or Google Play, deleting your Jarrah account does not cancel that subscription — you must cancel it from your App Store or Google Play account. Subscription fees already paid are not refunded — see Section 5a.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms, with or without notice depending on the severity of the violation.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where practicable, notify you via email or through the Service.

Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

Jarrah is operated by Zondo Studios from Australia and is available to users worldwide. These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and the courts of New South Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from your use of the Service.

Pricing is denominated in Australian dollars (AUD) regardless of where you access the Service from; your bank or card issuer may apply currency-conversion fees that we do not control.

Nothing in these Terms limits, excludes, or modifies any non-excludable consumer-protection right available to you under the laws of your country of residence (for example, the Australian Consumer Law, the EU/UK consumer-rights regime, or US state-specific consumer statutes). Where a provision of these Terms conflicts with such a non-excludable right, that right prevails.
