Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Jarrah personal finance application ("Service") operated by Jarrah ("we", "us", or "our"), available at jarrah.money.

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

You must be at least 16 years of age to use Jarrah. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information when creating your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access to your account
• Not share your account credentials with any third party

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

Jarrah is a personal finance management tool that allows you to track transactions, create budgets, monitor investments, manage recurring commitments, and generate financial reports. The Service includes:

• Manual and CSV/Excel transaction import
• Custom categories, vendors, and budget planning
• AI-powered budget suggestions
• Financial reports and insights
• Bank account synchronisation via Open Banking (Pro plan)

Jarrah offers a free plan that includes the core functionality of the Service. Additional features, such as automatic bank synchronisation, are available through a paid subscription ("Pro" plan).

We reserve the right to modify pricing, features included in each plan, or introduce new plans with reasonable notice. Changes to pricing will not apply retroactively to active billing periods.

The free plan will always include the core budgeting, transaction tracking, categorisation, and reporting features available at the time of these Terms.

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation
• Infringe on the rights of any third party
• Transmit malicious code, spam, or harmful content
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or its infrastructure
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
• Use the Service for any commercial purpose other than managing your personal finances
• Create multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits or abuse demo functionality

You retain ownership of all financial data you enter into the Service. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your data.

You grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display your data solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. This includes sending anonymised financial context to our AI provider for the budget planning feature.

You can export your data at any time using the reports and export features. You can delete your account and all associated data from the Settings page. For more information on how we handle your data, please see our Privacy Policy.

If you use the bank synchronisation feature, you authorise us to retrieve your transaction and balance data from your financial institutions through our Open Banking provider (Basiq). This is done in accordance with the Consumer Data Right (CDR) framework.

You can revoke bank access at any time through the Service or directly with your financial institution. We never store your bank login credentials.

Jarrah uses artificial intelligence to provide budget suggestions and financial insights. These features are intended as guidance only and should not be treated as professional financial advice.

AI-generated suggestions are based on the financial data you provide and may not account for all aspects of your financial situation. You are solely responsible for any financial decisions you make.

Jarrah is a financial tracking and planning tool. Nothing in the Service constitutes financial, tax, investment, or legal advice. We are not a financial adviser, tax agent, or licensed professional.

You should consult a qualified professional before making significant financial decisions. We accept no liability for financial decisions made based on information displayed in the Service.

We strive to keep the Service available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with reasonable notice where practicable.

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian Consumer Law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or financial losses resulting from reliance on information provided by the Service.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded or limited by law.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Jarrah and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

You may terminate your account at any time by deleting it from the Settings page. Upon deletion, all your data will be permanently removed.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms, with or without notice depending on the severity of the violation.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where practicable, notify you via email or through the Service.

Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Australia. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Australia.
